Data Use Policy
This policy explains how Arcavia uses the data you provide. Our commitment is simple: your data stays within Arcavia and is used only to operate and improve the service you signed up for — nothing more.
Our Data Commitment
Until further notice, all data collected by Arcavia is used exclusively within the company. We do not sell, license, or share your data with external parties for marketing, analytics, or any other commercial purpose.
1. Scope of this policy
This Data Use Policy applies to all data collected by Arcavia through our website, mobile applications, and related services. It is intended to complement our Privacy Policy, which details what data we collect and how it is stored.
2. How we use your data
Your data is used solely for the following internal purposes:
- Providing and maintaining your Arcavia account and writing projects
- Displaying your personal writing analytics and achievement progress
- Sending transactional communications (account security, billing receipts)
- Delivering the optional weekly writing digest (Pro users, opt-out anytime)
- Investigating and resolving technical issues or abuse reports
- Improving platform features based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns
3. Data stays within Arcavia
Until further notice, your personal data — including your account details, writing content, and usage history — is processed and stored exclusively by Arcavia and its core infrastructure providers (Supabase for database hosting, Vercel for application hosting). These providers act as data processors on our behalf under strict data processing agreements and do not use your data for their own purposes.
We will not share, sell, rent, or license your data to any third party for advertising, analytics resale, market research, or any other external commercial use.
4. Your writing content
Your story content receives the highest level of protection. It is:
- Stored encrypted at rest and never read by Arcavia staff without your consent
- Never used to train AI models, recommendation engines, or any machine learning system
- Never shared with AI providers, content platforms, or any external service
- Invisible to other users unless you explicitly publish or share it
5. Aggregated and anonymised data
We may use aggregated, anonymised data (e.g. total daily active users, average session length across all users) for internal product planning and performance monitoring. This data cannot be used to identify any individual user and is never shared externally in a form that could be attributed to you.
6. Future changes to data use
The current policy limits all data use to within Arcavia. If this changes — for example, if we introduce optional integrations with third-party tools — we will:
- Update this policy with at least 30 days' notice before the change takes effect
- Notify all affected users by email
- Ensure any new data sharing is opt-in, not opt-out
- Never retroactively change how previously collected data is used without explicit consent
7. Your controls
You remain in control of your data at all times:
- Export your writing content at any time from the app
- Delete your account and all associated data from Account Settings
- Opt out of non-essential emails from Notification Settings
- Request a full copy of your data by contacting us
